The machinists are a playable faction in the matrix Online, which consists of programs and redpill who serve the common goal of maintaining the Matrix. They are the opposing force against the Zionites and the Merovingians. The highest visible leader seen in this organization is the Architect (from the matrix trilogy). Some of the members are even agents. They also icnlude an extremist group known as the Cypherites.
